Testament (Aethyr version) - Romaji and Translation

We have arrived at the 3rd song of the album! So, this song has been remastered in the 9th -LostFairy-  Fantasy, where it's sung by Yuki. If I recall correctly, the lyrics have been changed. I therefore do not tag Yuki and the 冥府へ誘う灰のネクロフェスタ (Necrofesta) album yet. Ergo memento mori is Latin for "Remember you [have to] die", this is pretty much in line with the title of the song. A testament is the will you leave behind when you die.

This song is pretty vague. It basically tells us the story about devout believers (zealots) who know nothing of impurity (or death). After a while they start having doubts about their belief and are converted by a dark force, which tells them to fear it (the dark force). God might show them a holy and correct path but... there is another dark truth...  People die in this world, which they are apparently unaware of. As they have been following the holy disciplines, they are taught nothing about death or greed. This greed and mortality links to the story of Adam and Eve in the bible. Just because Eve ate an apple (forbidden fruit that the humans crave for (see translation)), humans became sinners and thus mortals.

Composition wise this song is pretty nice. The sounds are a little too muffled  sometimes though. That is definitely fixed on the 9th fantasia. If you wonder why the melody is familiar, you might have heard the original pieces classical music, as they are very popular pieces. The beginning is based on the Toccata and Fugue in d minor by Bach, a little bit of Moonlight Sonata 1st movement by Beethoven can be heard in the middle as well.

Translation notes:
- This is a pretty vague song, it pretty much is a song inside a song.
- 「白」の戒めを「黒」が蝕み
I immediately assumed white connects to purity and black to impurity, hence I immediately translated them as "holiness" and "darkness"

トゥルバドールの見た風 (Troubadour no Mita Kaze) - The wind seen by a troubadour - Romaji and Translation

Hello 100th post! So this is the second song of the Aethyr album. It's about a troubadour (a wandering kind of  minstrel) who wanders the world searching for the place they have seen in their dreams. The song is pretty straightforward! The composition reminds me of the last song of the Nostalgia album. It's gentle, yet nostalgic, yet has a slight symphonic vibe to it. Ria's voice reminds me of Hato's, it sounds very similar! It seems most of the Lostfairy singers have the same timbre to their voice :).

Inside my silent memory, does the this road ever end?
My memory stacks up, riding on a gentle breeze

Guided by a tailwind,

without knowing the place where it goes next, it wavers
I sing along as I search for the whereabouts of the winds that the birds have painted
Until the wish I hide inside my chest will come true

Like an aimless stray young bird,  it wavers
I sing along as I pray for reaching the place that I have seen in my dreams
Until that day, I will look at the eternal wind, all alone

Translation notes:
- 追い風に委ねた清き調べ
何処まで遠く行けたのだろう, I have added "drifts" to the translation this, to make the english flow better.
- 迷い仔, literally "Lost stray animal". As the song mentions birds, I made it a "young stray bird", as the troubadour is compared to a wandering bird and tries to follow the trails of the birds.

彷徨える忘却のアエティール (Samayoeru Boukyaku no Aethyr) - CD Translation

Hello, my name is LuckyAurora and I'm actually a graduate school vampire who tirelessly works on transcriptions. I have way too many hobbies and a month only has 28-31 days. Jokes aside, I want to put out this for y'all. I dug through a lot of places to come by a copy of the first -LostFairy- Album.
I'm not disappointed. This is a pretty decent CD. It spans way back to 2012 and is branded ARS-001! the very first ArsMagna CD ever. Oh yea, it's antique.

The cover looks like this (Picture has been grabbed from the magicinternet)

I need to admit, when I searched for 彷徨える忘却のアエティール, I came past the flying dutchman(彷徨えるオランダ人) a lot... not sure if it's because where I am located.... I think this CD is actually related to the Ataraxia CD, this might be set in the ancient land where the first girl with the blessing of the stars/moon was living.

The art is done by Chitose Rin and I actually doubt if the crossfade is still public. The songs are sung by Ria (莉愛). I tried to do some research on her too but no Lucky. Lyrics and Composition are of course by our great Demon King, Noël. Some of the harmonies are sung by Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka.

Like the 2nd and 3rd CD, there is no story that introduces the CD.

The tracklist is as follows:
1. Romanesque ~光と闇に帰依する幻想~ (Romanesque ~Hikari to Yami ni Kieru Gensou~)
2. トゥルバドールの見た風 (Troubadour no mita kaze)
3. Testament
4. 悠久のFairyTale (Yuukyuu no FairyTale)

Titles are translated as

1. Romanesque ~Fantasy devoted to Light and Darkness~
2. The wind seen by a troubadour
4. Eternal Fairy Tale

The first song was Rehashed in Ataraxia, no new translation will be put out.

I found a nice review by a japanese listener:
http://mmpk584.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-2948.html

I think I agree with their "satisfied %", Only having discovered LostFairy around 2017, I was blessed with the later albums already.

Ataraxia ~至純の詩~ (Ataraxia ~Shijun no Uta~) - Ataraxia ~Song of Absolute purity~ - Romaji and Translation

"悠久の世界にささげた祈りは・・・ 魂の「平穏」を与える、至純の詩"
"Devoting prayers to the eternal world... giving the soul 'tranquility', a song of absolute purity" - Stella and Luna, praying and clasping their hands together

Wow it's already the last song of the album. Carmilla has been purified by the prayers of Luna and Stella and has returned back to human, if I interpret this correctly. She has also remembered her human name (which is not Mircalla like in the book haha), but wants people to continue to call her Carmilla as the human she was before Carmilla is actually dead already.

Ahh this song is so pure, I can hear the innocence flowing from Sayu's voice! The composition is ethnic, yet has more of a rock edge. It reminds me of one of the songs in the first album, The "troubadour" song. I have not translated that one yet, but composition wise those two surely give off a similar vibe. If you have seen the booklet, there was something I noticed: I actually love how one of the pages in the booklets shows Tir Na Nog, but then with lilies. In Japan, the lily symbolises purity, and ohoho look at the title of the song! Pure! Carmilla's clothes also change from Red/Black to White (purity in western countries is often presented by the colour white) and her eye colour changes from Red (vampire) to a more natural(?) purple.

How to interpret the translation: I translated it from the point of view of Carmilla, she is the "I" person here. I imagine that the spoken part is how Stella and Luna prayed for Carmilla during her purification and that Carmilla experiences it here in her own way. “進もう… 私たちの物語だから” is translated like a kind of open ending, so the listener can imagine what happens to Stella and Luna afterwards.

I had a dream of a little miracle, blessed by the stars and the moon
The two girls devoted themselves to pray to the “Eternal” world, looked at each other
“Let’s move on… since it’s our tale”

Translation notes:
- Of course, the blessings of the star and moon are the blessings of Stella and Luna.
- I have no idea what the veil of mystery, neither what the fate of the future is for Carmilla, however I imagine that Carmilla is no longer immortal and she has been given a mortal life.
- I still don't know what "the eternal world" is, but I have the idea it refers to the fairy paradise "Tir Na Nog"

Venus Blood - Romaji and Translation

"最後の吸血鬼が美しい「鮮血」に染まる宵闇を見せてあげる"
"As the last vampire, I shall show you dusk dyed in beautiful 'Fresh blood'"  - Carmilla

This song is about Carmilla, how she is right now. She has been taken over by madness and intents to bite/kill Luna and Stella. This song connects to the song Noble Blood from the Transylvania album.
Venus is the Roman Goddess of beauty. The connection  between Carmilla and Venus is made because Carmilla looks alluringly beautiful like a goddess.  As usually I don't give a kanji transcription of the spoken parts, as there is none, I need to figure it out myself, based on context of the song.

Composition wise I think this song is very good, the heavy drums are awesome, Yuki hits that G5 so beautifully in the chorus. The excellent accompaniment with Shirasu's violin, ahh this work just screams "Noël good job😄".

Translation:

“Eternity” sinks into dusk
Blood(crimson) and darkness(jet black) entertwine into a “Fantasy”

嗚呼... 滅びの運命

ah... horobi no sadame

Ah… the fate of destruction.

Translation notes:
- I am pretty sure  深紅 (crimson) refers to blood and 漆黒 (jet black) to darkness/dusk.

- Spoken part has some ellipses, I put in (brackets) what I think the context means, as the sentences seem to be relying on filling in from context.

- I tried to add some alliterations: Deep Darkness, She Seeks the Sweet Scent etc to make the elegance of Carmilla a little bit more prominent/stylish.

儚きアルヴの追憶 (Hakanaki Alf no Tsuioku) - Reminiscence of a Fleeting Alf - Romaji and Translation

This is the last song for today. I have 2 different interpretations about this song.
In my first interpretation I envision that Luna and Stella have gone back in the past of Carmilla. Inside this past Carmilla sees the two girls and continues dreaming of Tir Na Nog. Afterwards she writes a letter to herself so she won't forget that place. And thanks to the letter the remembers what transpired in Tir Na Nog in the altered present. However... that reminiscence quickly turns into bloodlust later... Carmilla goes mad (Read the story for this and the first part of Noble blood)
The second interpretation is that Luna and Stella are in Tir Na Nog, but Carmilla has actually already seen them in the past and they are actually the alves from Tir Na Nog that blessed Carmilla and they are brought to an orphanage in a church later. I think the first interpretation is correct, but I will never know ;).

Composition wise, the song is a little too ethnic for me. It is soft and calming, it has a gentle and soft embracing tone that I didn't expect. Sayu's voice adorns this style beautifully though.

目の前に広がる 白き丘の上で
彷徨う二人が見た どこか懐かしい景色

me no mae ni hirogaru shiroki oka no ue de
samayou futari ga mita dokoka natsukashii keshiki

In front of my eyes a somewhat nostalgic scene spreads out
On top of a white hill, I saw two wandering girls

花びら舞うの中で長い髪なびかせ
優うその姿は 儚きアルヴのよう

hanabira mau naka de nagai kami nabikase
ureu sono sugata wa hakanaki arubu no you

Dancing in the middle of falling flower petals, their long hair fluttered
Their gentle figures were like the Fleeting Alfs

過去が眠る夢の園に 星と月は導かれ
優しい光に包まれ 遠い「幻想」を見る...

kako ga nemuru yume no sono ni hoshi to tsuki wa michibikare
yasashii hikari ni tsutsumare tooi 「gensou」wo miru...

Inside a garden of dreams, the past sleeps, guiding the stars and the moon
Wrapped up in a tender light, they see distant “fantasies”…

“刻まれた記憶が、風に消える前に
    この手紙を... まだ見ぬ私に託す”

"kizamareta kioku ga, kaze ni kieru mae ni
kono tegami wo... mada minu watashi ni takusu"

“I write down the carved memories in a letter… to hand over to the future me
before they disappear in the wind”

やがて時は流れ その追憶は巡り
綴られた願いは きっと届くのだろう...

yagate toki wa nagare sono tsuioku wa meguri
tsudzurareta negai wa kitto todoku no darou...

In the end, time flows, memories go around
The written down wishes, will sometime reach someone somewhere… right?

見果てぬ夢の園に 妖精の魔法がかかり
優しい光に包まれ 遠い 「幻想」を見る...

mihatenu yume no sono ni yousei no mahou ga kakari
yasashii hikari ni tsutsumare tooi 「gensou」 wo miru...

In the garden of my unfinished dream, the magic of the Alfs began to work
Wrapped in a tender light, I see distant “Fantasies”

“刻まれた記憶が、風に消える前に
この手紙を... まだ見ぬ私に託す”

"kizamareta kioku ga, kaze ni kieru mae ni
kono tegami wo... mada minu watashi ni takusu"

“I write down the carved memories in a letter… to hand over to the future me
before they disappear in the wind"

やがて時は流れ その追憶は巡り
永遠に伝えられる... 「悠久」の旋律

yagate toki wa nagare sono tsuioku wa meguri
towa ni tsutaerareru... 「yuukyuu no melody」

In the end, time flows, memories go around
They are passed down into eternity… A melody of “Eternity”

Translation notes:
-  I didn't come up with the word "carved" memories. The choice of the words is based on the song titles from Ataraxia, which the great Demon King Noël came up with himself.

- The written down wishes, will sometime reach someone somewhere… right?I wanted to use a trinity of "some" -> sometime, someone, somewhere. Where it actually comes from is きっと届くのだろう only.
きっと means surely and represent this with sometime
届くのだろう literally means something along the lines of "it will reach, right?" I represent this with "it will reach someone somewhere... right?" I figure that somewhere and sometime are a little hidden in the word 届く as it is actually an intransitive verb, but it doesn't translate well to english without a object actually

呪われしファラの刻印 (Norowareshi Fara no Kokuin) - Carved Seal of the cursed Fara - Romaji and Translation

I'm really digging a hole for myself with procrastinating. 13 posts per month might be a little too much for me. So, the next song is the Fara song. Fara is apparently the name of "Blood" in this story, it is briefly mentioned in the voice drama (not yet updated but will be updated soon).
This song is a remaster from the 血に飢えし魔獣の狂気 song from the 5th Fantasia. It is kind of a parallel song, roughly the same actions happen, but here it is describing the time Carmilla gets bitten instead of Carmilla biting others. The song is translated from the point of view of Carmilla.

Sound wise, I think my view of this song has actually improved with this remaster. Yuki does a great job at releasing the emotions in the song. The instrumentals seem to be a little clearer too.

“Ah, it’s almost like a common tragedy, no?”
It’s impossible to escape from this cursed fate
“Come, I shall give you, eternal sleep”
A requiem for me echoed in dusk.

赤い... 赤い... 赤い… 闇に沈む

akai... akai... akai... yami ni shizumu

Red… red… red… sinking into darkness

音もなく消える

oto mo naku kieru

Disappearing without a sound

Translation notes:
- The red bite marks are the place where the fangs of the vampire who originally bit Carmilla penetrated her skin.

- さあ、永遠の眠りを... 与えよう
A more correct translation of this might be:  I can give you death, however Carmilla actually didn't die upon the bite, she became a vampire, bound to live in dusk for eternity.

- The Kanji of red is different compared to the other song. The other song's "red" is a "Vermilion" red and this kanji is the normal, more commonly used kanji of red (あかい)

ティル・ナ・ノーグ (Tir Na Nog) - Romaji and Translation

Tir Na Nog, the land of youth, the land of fairies, the celtic otherworld. A kind of utopia that only can be visited in dreams. Although an utopia sounds very nice, an utopia is actually an automatic distopia, if everthing is good and nothing is bad, good automatically becomes average/bad and there is nothing that tops your current situation. I like how this view will directly connect to Carmilla's situation. Her initial situation is that she is clouded in a distopia dusk, but one day she visits Tir Na Nog, an utopia being a direct 180 from her situation where she receives the blessing of the fairies.

In this song, it's not Camilla visiting the fairy Paradise, but it's our Luna and Stella. The two girls have a whimsical time, where all their worries are forgotten and they are blessed by the fairies in the garden of youth...

Composition wise this song is not really my cup of tea, it's a little too ethnic for my taste. Still I don't think it's a bad song, so please enjoy it! I noticed that Ethnic and Gothic are actually very close genres in the doujin community. (aside from that they are differing from eachother by 2 letters), -LostFairy-'s first 2 CD's were ethnic, Symholic has sister circle Lilypha which is ethnic, has 3 more ethnic CD's (1st, 2nd and 4th CD).

Without realising it, I devote myself
The blessings of the fairies visit together with fate

- 世界樹 is immediately translaed as Yggdrasill, which is the world tree.

Nostalgia - Romaji and Translation

We have our first song! This song tells us a not so unfamiliar story about the two girls from Ataraxia and their power of eternity and our Vampire woman Carmilla. Darkness/The moon is symbolised by Luna, Light/the stars is symbolised by Stella and (the one thirsting for blood in) dusk is symbolised by Carmilla. They finally meet in this song... After having found the mirror of reminiscence...

In terms of composition I think this one is pretty good, it is dark enough for my likings. The harmonies are nicely done, the melody is nice, the lyrics are nice.
The title of the song and the content match up nicely, they briefly retell the story of the main characters of both cds and they briefly tell about their past (nostalgy) and their meeting.

祈りに導かれし光と 記憶に眠る闇が交わる
「悠久」の運命に見を委ね 紡がれてくゆく「幻想」
星詠と月影の奇跡は 宵闇の呪縛を解き放つ

hoshiyomi to tsukikage no kiseki wa yoiyami no jubaku wo tokihanatsu
haruka kanata kara kikoetekuru shuuen no kane ga...

The light guided by prayers and the darkness that sleeps in the memory intertwine
Devoting themselves to the fate of “Eternity”, they continue to weave “fantasies”
The miracles of stargazing and moonlight unleash the spell of dusk
From a distant place, the bells of demise can be heard…

In a dream that nobody knows of

Continuing to drink dead bodies and eventually even my own heart

Venus Blood

Ataraxia ~

Hello readers,
Sorry for the interruption of the translation posts! I am currently translating the story, I'm about halfway, but my internet is a little unstable. So I haven't posted all my progress yet.

So I went to ask Noël and Paspal for their permissions to write out the Kanji, Romaji, Translation and if reusage of my lyrics is allowed.

Circle name Permission to write out Kanji Permission to write out Romaji Permission to write out Translations Permission to re-use all 3 on the left for a fan video
Symholic Yes Yes Yes Yes*
-LostFairy- Yes Yes Yes Yes, but please try to support the circle with your video.*
If I decide to translate more circles (on request/a new circle I love will surface), they will be added to this list, but for now, I'm content with just those 2.

*This is a request from my side: Please credit the artists and please ask your viewers to support the artist. Link their official website/booth/tunecore/twitter for instance.

A good example of where you can buy CD's is https://www.tunecore.co.jp/artist/Symholic?locale=en_US or https://paspal.booth.pm/ for Symholic. The latter has more content (all cds!), very reasonable prices and comes as a direct digital download. You can even raise the amount you want to pay for the CD by giving a boost (this is what I usually do ehehe). You need to have Paypal or a credit card to order.

For -LostFairy-, you can find two physical CDs (Grimgard and a compilation album), cute acryl keyholders and some cool shirts at  https://lostfairy.booth.pm/. If you don't live in Japan, you can ship them via Buyee, but keep in mind they ask several fees, domestic and overseas shipping for their service. You need to have Paypal or a credit card to order. Their spotify and google play can be found via https://www.tunecore.co.jp/artist/lostfairy. The story is not included there, so if you want the full experience, For 3143 yen + a lot of fees that don't go to the artist... you can get the physical CD with a physical booklet!
