Re Storia -花の戯れ- (Re Storia -Hana no Tawamure-) - Re Storia -Jest of the Flowers- - Romaji and Translation

So this is a "twisted answer song" version of Colette's album (不思議な少女のオペレッタ, Fushigi na shoujo no Operetta), in that album it is named 戯れの花畑 (Tawamure no Hanabatake). This time it is sung by Sayu.  

This song is really devious, I like Colette's wit. "Don't worry, I am cute, so I can win at everything" hahaha her "demo, demo" catchphrase hehehe. And here she isn't wearnig her cute little red riding hood, instead she is wearing a blue one.

The parallels I could draw to the previous songs are: Colette finds a wolf and outsmarts it and shoots it. This time she is walking through the same field, instead of one wolf there are two! She outsmarts them both and kills them both, but... then she wonders why there are two because she killed a wolf last time and it should be dead. But it is a crazy lunacy hidden inside the story which has gone crazy (Kyouki gensou Grimgard 1.5!). She uses her catchphrase demo,demo more though. This time she is embarking on that trip she said she'd be embarking on back in Grimgard, so that makes this a direct sequel :D!

終焉を謳うアリエッタ (Shuuen wo Utau Arietta) - CD presentation page

So this is a "new" lostfairy CD, but most of the songs are "old" and slightly rewritten. I checked the booklet and there are only minimal differences between their originals and the new version. Thus I will only translate the one song with significant differences and point the differences out here and in the old posts. Haven't heard the crossfade? See below! On the cover you see Melusine (purple haired girl in the black dress), Colette (brown haired girl in blue x white with a headbow) and Alisha (girl with pink hair)

1. Nigel r no shouzou, Jet Black Portrait. I uh, might not want to change the title knowing internet culture of nowadays... But I now know that it meant Jet Black. Comes from Melusine's Boukyaku CD.  Differences are minimal, no more katakana to curse the text. Amended the post.

2. Re Storia -Hana no Tawamure- is a remix of Colette's Operetta CD's Tawamure no Hanabatake, these lyrics are very different and thus will have another post!

3. Haitoku no Antiphona the third, in all senses, third song of the album, third appearance in all the -LostFairy- discography. As far as I know, all versions same lyrics (Transylvania, Nostalgia Prelude and this CD), even the has the same singers as the 2nd version, so I will not amend any post.

4. Black Lolita from Alisha's CD. Has a small difference in the nigel no kyouen, but afaik that's the
only difference. I'll have a look later. But this is a very minor change and won't get a new post I think.

The order in which I like the songs is 1=2=3=4, haha what an unexpected order eh, I like all songs a lot and they are all lovely in their own way. I love almost all -LostFairy- songs, I am a "doorgewinterde veteraan" as they call it in Dutch haha, I have listened to -LostFairy- that much, I think I rolled into this hole like 5+ years ago? Has been so long that I came to appreciate all songs. I almost never skip a song when it's on random play!

Black Lolita - Romaji and Translation

I finally found out that "nigeru" just is "jet black", the latin word for it. I prefer NOT getting canceled on the internet, so I leave the romanisation of the titles and such as nigel lol. There is another version in the Arietta CD sung by Yuki. There are minor changes to the lyrics.

Instead of "nigeru no kyouen" "孤独な狂宴 (kodoku na kyouen)" is sung, lit. 'a lonely revelry'.
Another difference is that Priscilla makes a tiny appearance.
I think here she says 闇と共に　死を記憶せよ (Shi wo kiokuseyo), which I last time translated as: Thou shalt remember death!

The second time, instead of "nigeru no kyouen" , 悲劇の終焉 (Higeki no Shuuen) "The end of tragedy" is sung.

The next song is the song of the spade. I think the girl referred to in this song is Melusine, see the 7th album 呪われし亡国のメフィストフェレス), as Melusine does have a cursed eye and wears a Black (?) lolita dress, hence I'm quite certain of it. The "witch" version of Alisha in the booklet has her left eye covered with a card, so it can't be her. 

This song was quite short, I have few remarks on it, but boy those drums hit nicely ;3

背徳のアンティフォナ (Haitoku no Antiphona) - Immoral Antiphon - Romaji and Translation

Song two! Having become a vampire, the poor girl doesn't want to give up on being a human at first. She is reluctant to bite others and lives a miserable life, repeatedly questioning herself about what she should do. This song is definitely my favourite from the album and also my all time favourite to translate from LostFairy. Its complexity amazes me.
So, what is an Antiphon? An antiphon is a piece of music, derived from the Ancient Greek words ἀντί (anti), being "opposite" and φωνή (fonè), which means "voice" together it becomes ἀντίφωνον/ἀντίφωνα (the latter is plural). This type of music is often sung in Christian churches. A common pattern in antiphona is that there is a call and response type of chorus/verse. You can indeed see it back in the song. We have two singers, Yuki and Hato, and in like 70% of the song, they call and respond to eachother. I will not colour code this in the Romaji and Kanji here, maybe on another day, but it is a pain, really. It is not done in the booklet either, however, it is indicated very clearly there as the level of the text (the amount of tabs or spaces) clearly indicates who sings. The word immorality comes back in the lyrics, as the girl slowly loses all her morality and falls back into the dark life of a vampire.

This song has also been featured on Nostalgia Prelude, including an instrumental, but instead of Hato, it features Sayu (I will tag her in this post too, as the song is essentially the same). I'm glad Yuki still sings for -LostFairy- as I really love Yuki's voice! So, this song was actually very hard to translate if you haven't listened to the song. You need to find the right connections and determine who is speaking and from whose perspective you are watching. Thankfully Hato and Yuki's (or in the other version Sayu and Yuki's) voices are very different, making it easier for me to determine who sings what.

Seriously this song is my favourite in the entire album, Yuki's godly voice, Hato's unique breathy voice, the complexity of the lyrics, the call and response, the half intertwining lines, the epic drums, guitar and bass. The organ at the beginning... Ahh, it is so good, i can keep listening to both versions. I'm so happy I could translate this song to share its meaning with you all...

Translation notes:
- 巣食う
　ただの　悪魔 versus 救う悪魔.

The first time, Hato (probably, as it is not clearly audible, but we can deduce it based on either the position of the lyrics and the meaning it carries) sings 'haunting', as the devil haunted her in her attempt to die. Yuki bit her, meaning that she probably is a vampire, yet she claims to be a "normal"  demon.

There is no second lyric under the second one, yet I did give it a second meaning. Yuki and Hato sing the same in the second time, yet their point of view is different. Yuki sings from the viewpoint of the devil (the saviour) and Hato/Sayu sings from the point of the vampire girl (the one who wants to be saved).

Both lyrics 巣食う and 救う are pronounced as "すくう", the first one being Ateji and the latter one a kun-yomi. I chose the meaning "haunt" over "nest", because that is more logical in context. The second time it is sung as "saving", this basically is an antithese in its own, while it's pronounced the same. This is so interesting, and things like this are a prime example of why I LOVE translating!

What does the devil mean by "seeking it" ? Of course blood. "I am thirsty"  also refers to thirsty for blood, not to thirsting for water. But... Carmilla is reluctant to bite others... as she thinks she is still human.
