So this CD is about the vampire girl Carmilla, who is doomed to live in darkness on the day she wanted to die. Carmilla actually is a well known gothic novel and one of the foundations of the vampire gothic novel subgenre, the other more well known gothic vampire novel is of course Dracula.
The spoken track is voiced by a well known seiyuu 能登麻美子 (Noto Mamiko), who is kind of known for having a muffly yet mature voice. She for instance voices Kotomi in Clannad or Mavis in Fairy Tail.
I couldn't completely decipher the spoken track, due to it being overpowered by the music, the muffliness of the voice and not having a transcription of this, but I shall try my best to include everything in the description below:
"An ancient legend lives in my memories. On the other side of the forest, surrounded by many steep mountains, there is a beautiful place also known as 'Utopia'. The bloodline of those, who were in great numbers in a distant past, has been discontinued, now only a scenery that has been ruined long ago remains. The order I liked the songs in is 3>5>2>4. Why 3 first? I'm a huge Yuki fan ehehe, but I also think the song is the best lyric wise and composition wise. The intertwined meanings I had to search in there, I love that in music! I had a hard time choosing between 5 and 2 for the second position. I really like how hato can convey the mysterious nature of some lyrics in 2, both I love even more how she conveys that in 5... how she hits that F5 is just chilling... And the latin.. that's a + too :). 4 was my least favourite, the end of the song leaves a bitter taste with the 灰となり 空へ. It felt a little disconnected from the main song. I would have liked it more if the song ended at 4:13.
